Danielle "Dani" Evans (born June 7, 1985 in Little Rock, Arkansas, is an American model. In May 2006, she won America's Next Top Model, Cycle 6.
Before America's Next Top ModelEdit
Before appearing on America's Next Top Model, Evans worked as a babysitter as well as an Abercrombie & Fitch Brand representative.
On America's Next Top Model Edit
Evans was thought by the judges to be one of the front-runners in the competition, noted for her striking face. It was not until the second half of the contest that she came under criticism for her heavy southern accent, which the judges felt was unfitting of a CoverGirl spokesmodel (The final three contestants on Top Model shoot a CoverGirl commercial, and the winner receives a CoverGirl contract). Nevertheless, Evans made it to the top two contestants, Tyra Banks saying she could be given speech lessons. In the finale, the judges were torn with some of the judges preferring fellow finalist Joanie Dodds's versatile portfolio, while others (notably judge Nigel Barker) preferring Evans's "signature look." However, they felt as though Evans had the stronger in-person presence compared to Dodds and commanded the final catwalk. Evans's charisma and charm edged out Dodds, and she was crowned the winner of Cycle 6.
